  2.     KURV+ for WINDOWS
  3.  
  4.     KURV+ is a statistical analysis program with four mathematical modules:
  5.     a Curve Fitting module, a Multiple Linear Regression module, a
  6.     Fundamental Statistics module, and a Graph Builder module. A
  7.     Statistical Calculator is also provided.

  9.     CURVE FITTING MODULE
  10.  
  11.     X,Y data points supplied by the user are processed to determine the
  12.     coefficients for 28 mathematical equations (including third, fourth and
  13.     fifth order polynomials). A built-in data editor allows the user to
  14.     create, edit, or import files for curve fitting. Changes to files, and
  15.     the resulting curve fit changes, can be rapidly made from KURV's master
  16.     control panel. Comparisons of calculated points with actual data points
  17.     are instantly available. The user can also forecast results for points
  18.     beyond the range of the input data. The comparisons and forecasts can
  19.     be displayed as graphs or as tables. All graphs and tables can be
  20.     printed via the Windows printer interface; they can also be copied to
  21.     the Windows clipboard for insertion into other Windows programs. The
  22.     default labels and legends on the graphs can be changed via the new
  23.     label editor on each graph's menu bar.

  25.     MULTIPLE LINEAR REGRESSION
  26.  
  27.     In multiple regression, the dependent variable (Y) is predicted in
  28.     terms of 2 or more independent variables or predictors (X1, X2, etc.).
  29.     KURV+ will calculate the least-squares coefficients for linear
  30.     regression with two, three, or four predictors. The general form of the
  31.     equation is: Y = b0 + b1*X1 + b2*X2 + b3*X3 + b4*X4  where Y is the
  32.     dependent variable, X1, X2, X3, X4 are the independent predicators, and
  33.     b0, b1, b2, b3, b4 are the coefficients to be calculated.

  35.     FUNDAMENTAL STATISTICS MODULE
  36.  
  37.     This module calculates the mean, variance, and standard deviation of
  38.     data sets supplied by the user. Data may either be grouped (item value,
  39.     frequency of occurrence) or ungrouped (single column of item values).
  40.     Grouped data may be displayed as a scatter graph.

  42.     GRAPH BUILDER MODULE
  43.  
  44.     This module allows you to create your own graphs, independent of the
  45.     other modules. You supply the data and then choose your graph style,
  46.     colors, font style, line style, and grid type. You enter the desired
  47.     graph title, legend, and axis labels. The resulting graph may be
  48.     printed directly or copied to the Windows clipboard.

  50.     STATISTICAL CALCULATOR
  51.  
  52.     This calculator can perform the following operations: factorial,
  53.     permutations, combinations, e^x, Y^x, log e, log 10, square root, and
  54.     change sign. Numbers may be stored in a memory register for later
  55.     recall. Memory accumulation is also provided.
